Oh boy- what wild spring weather we've had! I guess I should clarify that we refer to spring as any time from January to June...thankfully, we can almost always count on the inside of the greenhouses feeling pretty spring-like, regardless of the weather outside (snow & wind in April?!).
Anyway, it's a fun time of year for us! The gang's all here planting and planning and the growing houses are looking quite nice. Here's a little look into what we've been up to...
This is the most impressive view around here right now...check out all that color! At this point, all greenhouses are full or just about full with plants and hanging baskets. Once the weather cooperates we'll be moving out perennials and petunias, then filling them right back up.
We had to improvise a bit for our annual egg hunt! Marty & Cindy's family celebrate Easter on Palm Sunday with dinner and then an egg hunt on the farm. This year the Easter Bunny kindly chose to hide the eggs in the greenhouse so we wouldn't be hunting them in the snow.
...And other days, it's so been hot that we're wearing shorts and eating popsicles! March can be so fickle!
We're sometimes lucky enough to get some extra help. Our four interns (two and a half years to two months) specialize in stacking pots, carrying (small) trays, playing with dirt, sweeping up dirt, and riding on the golf cart.
Overall we're right on schedule! The plants are looking great and we've got some really nice new additions to our tried and true lineup- very excited to share those with you soon!
